CELEBRATING HARMONY & INNOVATION

The Diversity Expo & Awards showcase harmony and innovation through a unique fair on careers, entrepreneurship, immigration and other opportunities, with seminars led by high profile inspirational speakers or presenters and the participation of the public sector, corporate and community leaders.

Since 2010, the Diversity Awards program has celebrated leadership, excellence, harmony and innovation. It features a red carpet reception, networking opportunities, a sumptuous dinner, entertainment, inspiring recipients, high profile presenters, a classy ceremony and the participation of youth from the Crossover Mentorship Program.

Past Recipients

Previous recipients of the Diversity Awards include South Asian businessman and philanthropist HarpreetSethi; World Vision President Dave Toycen; National Vice President of OMNI TV Madeline Ziniak; former Lieutenant Governor of Ontario Lincoln Alexander; football legend Michael "Pinball" Clemons, Royal Bank Regional President Jennifer Tory and others.

Selection

People of diverse backgrounds are nominated to receive one of 12 Diversity Awards. Nominees are people who inspire, transform, empower, showcase, celebrate and integrate elements of our mosaic through leadership, excellence, harmony and innovation. A committee under the direction of Silvertrust Communications selects and notifies successful candidates, who are then honoured at a prestigious gala.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of The Diversity Expo and Awards and associated initiatives include:

1. Inspire people in our diverse communities to aspire for greater success

2. Transform lives and society by maximizing values and the impact of our diversity

3. Empower individuals, businesses and organizations with information

4. Showcase the best of people to encourage service and transformation

5. Celebrate leadership, enterprise and other pertinent success stories

6. Integrate immigrants, Aboriginals and others for a more perfect mosaic
